Falls Pendant
An add-on for the Home Alarm: a pendant that raises an alert on its own when it detects a fall. It has been trained on thousands of falls and false alerts to tell a real fall from everyday movement. Worn around the neck, and nothing to charge.

Fall detection trained to get it right
- Trained on real falls
- Learned from thousands of falls and false alerts, so it can tell the two apart.
- Up to 2 years
- Battery. Nothing to charge. Replace it at 18 months.
- 20.8 g
- Light enough to wear all day.
- IP67
- Showerproof, so it can stay on.
- 100 m
- Range from the Hub in open air. Walls reduce this.
A fall, or a button press, gets your client the help they need
The client has 10 seconds to cancel. After that, the Hub raises the alert on their plan and they talk to whoever answers through the Hub.
To cancel, the client taps the pendant until the lights and sounds stop, or presses the Cancel Button on the Hub. The pendant has no speaker or microphone, so the client talks through the Hub.
Choose who answers the call
Both plans work with the Falls Pendant. Professional monitoring has a staffed centre in Australia. Family monitoring calls the client's emergency contacts.

What to tell the client
- Fall detection can't catch every fall. Clients should press the button whenever they can.
- It can only be worn around the neck, on the lanyard or an Umps Pendant Chain.
- It doesn't fit the Wall Mount, so it can't be used as a Wall Button.
- It can be worn in the shower, but not in the bath or a pool.
- If it raises false alarms, Umps can adjust the sensitivity or turn automatic fall detection off.
- The battery can't be replaced. The client gets a notification when the pendant needs replacing.
Who the Falls Pendant is for, and who it isn't
A good fit when your client
- Is at risk of falls and may not be able to reach a button afterwards
- Is mostly at home, where the Home Alarm Hub is in range
- Is happy to wear something around the neck all day
- Won't remember, or doesn't want, to charge a device
Look at something else when
- Wants to wear it on the wrist. The Mobile Alarm has fall detection and can be worn as a watch
- Needs fall detection away from home. The Mobile Alarm has fall detection and GPS
- Has a pacemaker or other implanted device. The Falls Pendant isn't suitable. The Home Alarm pendant can be worn on the wrist
What it costs
The Falls Pendant is added to a Home Alarm, so the client also needs the alarm and a response plan.

- $199
What referrers ask
Does the pendant need mobile reception?
No. It talks to the Hub over radio, and the Hub does the calling. The pendant needs to be within range of the Hub.
Can a client have a Falls Pendant and a standard pendant?
A Hub pairs up to 20 pendants and buttons, so yes. For example, a Falls Pendant to wear, and a Wall Button in the bathroom.
How does a client get one?
TO CONFIRM. It is an add-on to the Home Alarm at $199, and there is no Falls Pendant in the quote builder yet.
Is it covered by funding?
TO CONFIRM against current Support at Home, NDIS and CHSP rules before launch.
